Magazine Analysis - "TV Times"

Masthead – Masthead is in red and white, however is different to others which makes it more original, but recognizable. It is in the top left hand corner of the page as it will be the first thing the audience will read as they automatically read from left to right.

Strapline – Strapline links with the dominant main image. Strapline connotes that the soap is celebrating father’s day with the characters in the dominant main image. ‘Marlon’ is written in yellow which could show the audience that something may happen in this soap or he is the main character.
Coverlines – The coverlines are smaller than the main image and strapline as they are smaller stories lines for different soaps.
Barcode - on the right hand side.
Price – small which won’t attract the audience as much as other magazine’s however still cheap and readable.
Website – small but readable.
Date – Shows the audience the date of the TV listings.
Dominant main image – The dominant main image takes up 60% of the page as it is considered the main story of the soaps that week. The image also links with the strapline ‘Happy father’s day!’ which we can tell by the ‘Fab dad’ mug.
Pug – The audience are drawn to the pub automatically which is at the corner of the page. The pug is about sport, not soaps which will attract more and a different audience.
